She has 20 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher working with children and adolescents. She has a love for helping and learning about people, using new techniques and has a passion for working with women in all stages of life, trauma, relationships, and families that are blended or going through divorce. Mary has gained experience through her internship at Compass in the areas of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and abuse with all ages. Mary earned a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Concordia, a Master's in Education from University of LaCrosse., and an undergraduate degree in Special Education K-12 from the University of Stevens Point. Each treatment plan is highly tailored to the needs of the client. Through a collaborative effort with the individual, couple, or family, Jessica incorporates principles from cognitive-behavioral, psycho-educational, solution-focused, mindfulness-based therapy, and play therapy based modalities. Jessica uses a variety of approaches to help her clients, depending on individual needs. She is specialized in General Family Therapy and enjoys working with couples, families, and children of all ages, particularly ages 7-15. Jessica is also trained in TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention). Jessica was trained in the area of Systems Theory in which the focus is more on the whole system/family rather than the problem or issue pertaining to one particular person. Jessica began her internship with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consulting LLC in 2014 and completed it in 2016 at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consulting LLC. Jessica completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in February 2012 from the University of Phoenix and Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016. Jessica is a licensed marriage and family therapist in training and a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Our receptionist is available to schedule appointments and answer any questions you might have regarding appointments. Your therapist will give you an opinion for treatment and schedule a return appointment as needed. This will allow your therapist to custom design your treatment. This assessment will include detailed information about what brings you to therapy, symptoms, and personal history. An assessment will then be completed to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Your therapist will greet you and escort you to a comfortable home-like office and answer any questions you may have about the paperwork you completed. Please be sure to take a picture of your insurance card in your portal as part of initial paperwork completion. We will schedule an appointment for you once the paperwork is completed. The receptionist will send you paperwork through your online client portal. The majority of our therapists also offer later afternoon appointments and evening hours by appointment. We are open for appointments Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Compass Counseling is open for counseling services in Weston, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
